India-made phones hit Rs 1 lakh crore in FY17
After the Narendra Modi era in this nation, every digital firm is making the most of it. We have already posted few days back about Cash ban: wherein we mentioned about Smartphones that may go cheaper. India is focusing a bit more on India-made phones and this is a great sign.
Now this is a big update that around Rs 1 lakh crore are going to produce in India by the end of this financial year 2016-17.
This growth is really encouraging for the government as well that few electronics manufacturers are showing interest in this country. When we talk about duty, which is also on the lower side too.
As per the statement by our IT minister, R P Prasad mentioned that our country is going to produce mobile phone costing Rs 97000 crore in this financial year. And that was previously Rs 18,900 crore, when it’s come to financial year 2014-15. So when we compare, there is a huge difference already.
Our IT minister has mentioned little good news as well. Like recently 40 new industrial units are showing interest in this country. And when we talk about the output, this country is now going to produce around 200 million devices locally in this financial year. That was 60 million units when we talk about two years back scenario.
So many companies are looking forward for India-made phones as the local production incentive is around 12%. That’s a big incentive that is companies are eyeing at it. Intex, Karbonn, Micromax and Lava brands are doing really well and they are boosting up their local output after this announcement.
