Now this is what everyone was looking out for those who are using basic phones. Soon we are going to enter in the world of cashless economy after cash ban. And just to make this possible with immediate effect, finally government asks local handset companies to cut down the rates and start making up the Smartphone costing less than the amount of Rs 2,000 that can enable economic transactions.
Government has just realized that this move for cash ban won’t get succeed until or unless we won’t make the devices available to the rural areas. So now this a positive move.
As per the latest report, government called up a meeting in this matter and asked few handset makers which includes (Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and Intex) to manufacture few Smartphone at a really low cost. And most probably govt. will support this as well.
And the biggest update was that government hasn’t approached Chinese market for this as they all want all the manufacturing in India only.
On the other hand, few big ventures like Samsung and Apple didn’t attend the meeting.
Government has already begun digital transactions, which is growing each and every day with a rapid pace, but now they are feeling that there isn’t such availability of Smartphone in the market at a really low cost. So now things are going to move on in really quick sessions.
Basically all they want is that Smartphone should have the ability to scan those Aadhaar based transactions in the coming future. That would be easy for the users.
Well as of now, we can easily get a 3G Smartphone around 2500 Rs, on the other hand 4G phones are a bit expensive.
Now what the point is, government is yet to disclose about the subsidy. That will definitely encourage the Smartphone manufacturers to go for that deal. Right now these companies did not respond to the queries as of the press time.
